Twenty-three new coronavirus cases were confirmed on Sunday in Lithuania, bringing the country's total to 460, the Ministry of Health said.
Two people with the coronavirus died on Saturday.
In all, seven coronavirus victims have been reported in Lithuania. Four people have died in Ukmergė, two in Klaipėda and one in Panevėžys. The cases in Ukmergė have been linked to the town's hospital.
“They all were of advanced age and suffered from chronic diseases,” Daiva Razmuvienė, of the National Public Health Centre, told LRT RADIO. “Such people are particularly vulnerable to the coronavirus.”
Lithuania has carried out 8,424 coronavirus tests since the beginning of the epidemic, of them 1,524 on Saturday alone.
