Five Lithuanian restaurants have been awarded one Michelin star each in the guide's updated list, with a further 31 establishments recommended by Michelin inspectors.

Two restaurants are new additions to the starred list: Red Brick and Deep Roots.

Deep Roots, in Vilnius, only opened on April 1 this year and is led by head chef Andrius Kubilius, who previously worked at Nineteen18.

Red Brick is located in the Ukmergė district and has previously received a Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability and ecology.

Three restaurants – Nineteen18, Džiaugsmas, and Demo – have retained the stars they were awarded last year.

Bib Gourmand and recommended restaurants

Eight restaurants feature in the Bib Gourmand list, which Michelin awards to establishments offering exceptional quality food at good value. The new entry is Pievos, located in Birštonas.

The remaining seven are Augustin, 14Horses, Le Travi, Gaspar's, El Gato Negro, B'ARN Bistro, and Nüman.

The number of restaurants in Michelin's Selected Restaurants list – establishments recommended by inspectors for the quality of their cooking, but not awarded a star or Bib Gourmand – has grown from 24 last year to 31.

The full list comprises: PACAI Restaurant, MOTIF, Protėviai, Farmer & The Ocean, Kristoforas, Stikliai, Stebuklai, Amandus, elven, Elēno, HeJi, Saint-Malo, Somm, Da Antonio, Ertlio Namas, Buff On, OMAKASE by Vaidas Užgerys, Momo Grill, Skóg, Justa Pasta, Fabrikėlis, Apvalaus Stalo Klubas, Monte Pacis, Arrivée, SIJA, DIA, Uoksas, ALBA Bistro, monai, Monist, and Palanga.

Special Awards

Michelin also announced a series of special awards. The Young Chef Award went to Ignas Damanskas of Red Brick. Ignatijus Semionovas of Saint-Malo was named best sommelier. Paulius Žekonis of Nüman received the Service Award, and the Opening of the Year Award was presented to Rokas Vasiliauskas and the restaurant SIJA.

Tourism and Investment

Olga Gončarova, director of the national tourism promotion agency Keliauk Lietuvoje (Travel Lithuania), noted that research suggests six in ten travellers are inclined to extend their stay in a country if it has Michelin-recognised venues. The awards, she said, were a powerful tool for communicating Lithuania's culinary identity to the world.

Lithuania's partnership with the Michelin Guide is valued at up to €500,000 per year. This covers the work of independent Michelin inspectors in Lithuania, the assessment of restaurants against international criteria, editorial content, and integration of Lithuanian restaurants into the global Michelin Guide ecosystem – including its website, mobile app, social media channels, and newsletters, which reach a worldwide audience of millions interested in food and travel. The agency noted that Michelin's partnership model and fees are standardised across all participating countries.

How the stars are awarded

A single Michelin star denotes a very good restaurant in its category – high-quality cooking that is worth a stop. Two stars indicate excellent cooking that is worth a detour. Three stars, the guide's highest accolade, are reserved for exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey.

The Baltic context

Lithuania now leads the Baltic states in Michelin recognition.
