Two unmanned aerial vehicles that crashed and were found on Lithuanian territory this year belonged to Ukraine, the Lithuanian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
“Their targets were in Russia,” the ministry said in a response sent to the news agency ELTA. “The most likely reason for their deviation is the impact of Russian electronic warfare systems. The investigation into the recovered drones is continuing, assessing other possible causes.”
The wreckage of military drones was found in the southeastern Varėna district in March and the northeastern Utena district on May 17.
However, the drones that prompted air-raid alerts last Wednesday and Thursday were not found, with the search for them being later called off.
