Lithuania’s parliament, the Seimas, begins its spring session Tuesday, with more than 500 draft laws on its agenda, including legislation on a new military training area in Kapčiamiestis, the governance of public broadcaster LRT, and the extension of national sanctions against Russians and Belarusians.
President Gitanas Nausėda is expected to submit nine draft laws, the government 117, with the remaining proposals coming from parliamentary committees, factions, and individual lawmakers.
According to the schedule approved by the Seimas board, 54 plenary sittings are planned during the spring session.
Parliamentary sittings usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Under the Constitution, the spring session begins on March 10 and ends on June 30.
