Eight flights from Vilnius Airport have been cancelled since Saturday due to closed airspace following attacks by Israel and United States forces on Iran and subsequent retaliatory strikes, the airport operator said Monday.
The state-owned company Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) said one rotation of airBaltic flights between Vilnius and Dubai, a rotation by Flydubai on the same route, and two rotations of Wizz Air flights between Vilnius and Tel Aviv were affected.
Nine departures are scheduled on these routes between March 2 and 8, six to Dubai and three to Tel Aviv. While not officially cancelled, these flights may also be disrupted.
“We invite passengers affected by the situation and those planning future trips to carefully monitor information provided by the respective airlines regarding specific flights,” LTOU said in a written statement.
According to the operator, airlines are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East and adjusting schedules as needed.
Wizz Air has cancelled flights from Vilnius to Tel Aviv until March 7, while airBaltic have cancelled flights to Dubai until March 2 and Flydubai until March 3.
