Digital bank Revolut has appointed Kuba Fast, a senior executive at US banking group JPMorgan Chase, to lead Revolut Bank and Revolut Payments in Lithuania, the Spanish business daily Expansion reported.
Fast will also become Revolut’s chief executive for Europe, replacing Joe Heneghan, who has held the role since 2021, according to the newspaper.
The appointment is expected to take effect in the middle of this year, pending approval from regulatory authorities, Expansion reported.
Fast currently heads Chase UK and JPMorgan Europe Limited. In a post on LinkedIn last week, he said he is leaving JPMorgan Chase after seven years. Before joining the US bank, he spent nearly three years at Poland’s digital lender mBank and six years at global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
Revolut’s head of communications for the Baltic states, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Ingrida Daunaravičienė, declined to comment on the report when contacted by BNS.
As reported in late January, Revolut Bank has begun offering mortgage loans in Lithuania, though the service is not yet available to all customers.
Registered in Lithuania, Revolut Bank operates in 30 markets across the European Economic Area and is licensed and supervised by the European Central Bank and the Bank of Lithuania. The bank serves about 700,000 customers in Lithuania.
Revolut Bank received a specialised bank license in December 2018, began operations in 2020, and was granted a full banking license by the European Central Bank a year later.
