Lithuanian poet, essayist, literary critic and translator Tomas Venclova has been awarded this year’s Baltic Assembly Prize for Literature for his latest poetry collection, Uz Onos ir Bernardinu, the Lithuanian Seimas announced on Sunday.
A recipient of the Lithuanian National Culture and Arts Prize, Venclova writes in Lithuanian, English and Russian. Uz Onos ir Bernardinu features 31 poems composed over the past seven years.
The Baltic Assembly Prizes for literature, the arts and science will be presented during the Baltic Assembly session in Riga on November 13.
