Aurimas Mockus, a Lithuanian who was crossing the Pacific Ocean in a rowing boat, had to be rescued by the Australian military after getting caught in a storm.
The rower’s team announces that Mockus was rescued at 23:00 on Sunday, Lithuanian time, and was being taken ashore.
The Lithuanian was examined by medics on board the military vessel and is expected to reach Australian shores in a day and a half. Mockus assured that he did not suffer any serious injuries.
Mockus was attempting to cross the Pacific Ocean in a single rowing boat but was caught by a severe storm.
He had set off from San Diego, California, on October 15 last year. His plan was to reach Brisbane, Australia.
