BNS 2024.11.22 14:50

The Baltic states plan to jointly control the movement of goods whose exports to Russia and Belarus are banned because they are used for war. The three countries have agreed to draw up a regional list of sensitive controlled battlefield goods.

The agreement by the Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian prime ministers was reached during their meeting in Vilnius on Friday.

“We have published a joint declaration by the prime ministers of the three Baltic states as a commitment to soon draw up a joint regional list of controlled items found on the battlefield,” acting Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė told reporters after the meeting.

The declaration was adopted as part of efforts to better implement the existing sanctions against Belarus and Russia.

The list will be drawn up by the countries’ foreign ministries and related authorities.
