Daina Gudzinevičiūtė has been re-elected as president of the Lithuanian National Olympic Committee for the fourth four-year term.
During the LNOC General Assembly in Vilnius On Friday, she defeated Mantas Marcinkevičius, head of the Vilnius Sports Centre and the vice-president of the rowing and triathlon federations. Sixty-four ballot papers were issued for a secret vote and 48 members of the General Assembly voted for Gudzinevičiūtė, while 16 favoured Marcinkevičius.
As stipulated in the Olympic Charter, the members of the LNOC are all national federations that are members of international federations and whose sports are included in the Olympic programme, individuals contributing to the development of sport and Olympism, and any other entities mentioned in the LNOC statutes.
