The US rotational battalion changeover ceremony took place at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė on Tuesday.
The 10th rotation arrived in Lithuania in May, the Lithuanian Armed Forces said, adding that the US troops are bringing in M109A6 Paladin artillery systems, Abrams tanks, and Bradley IVFs.
The allies will take part in live-fire exercises and events together with the battalions of the Žemaitija Brigade, individual companies, and other units of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
According to the Armed Forces, the outgoing rotation has contributed to the training of junior commanders since September 2023, as well as to the JLTV course, and took part in the Exercises Strong Griffon 2023, Brave Griffon 2024, and other events.
US Army troops have been rotating in the Baltics and Eastern Europe since 2014 as part of the US Arm’s Operation Atlantic Resolve in the eastern part of the alliance. The aim of the operation is to strengthen allied defence and security in the region.
