Vilnius and Kaunas airports on Monday morning received reports of alleged explosives planted in the facilities.

“On Monday, after 8:00, an anonymous call was received threatening that explosives could be planted at Vilnius and Kaunas airports. All special services have been informed and a general assessment of the situation is underway,” Lithuanian Airports said in a statement.

Passengers and staff had been evacuated from the common areas of the terminals of both airports while the facilities were being checked for explosives.

Later, Lithuanian Airports informed that check-in for flights resumed at the two airports after a detailed check of their common areas where no explosives were found.

Around 100 passengers were temporarily evacuated from Kaunas and Vilnius airports each.

Vilnius Aiport was already evacuated last Wednesday over a hoax bomb threat.
