Vilnius City Council has decided to get rid of paper tickets in public transport. Here's what you need to know.

Starting in 2024, only a 60-minute ticket will be available for purchase with a contactless bank card aboard the bus for 0.90 euro. Other types of tickets and discounted tickets will be available as before using the JUDU/Vilnius card and the mobile apps m.Ticket and Trafi.

With the introduction of contactless bank cards, paper tickets, currently sold by drivers, will no longer be available from September 1, 2024. Previously purchased paper tickets will remain valid until 2027.

From January 8, 2024, the 5 and 10-day tickets will no longer be sold.

The 6 and 9-month tickets will also disappear. For those who have these types of tickets, they will be redeemable within 3 years from the date of purchase.

Following these changes, short-term tickets of 30 and 60 minutes, 1 and 3-day fixed-term tickets and long-term tickets of 30, 90, and 365 days, valid for all days of the week and weekdays only, will remain available.
