Estonia is appointing Kaimo Kuusk as its next ambassador to Lithuania. Kuusk is currently representing Tallinn in Ukraine, Estonia’s public broadcaster ERR has reported.
Estonian President Alar Karis appointed Kuusk as ambassador to Lithuania on March 24, recalling Kai Kaarelson from Vilnius.
Kuusk has been working in Kyiv since August 2019, ending his regular four-year term later this year.
Prior to becoming a diplomat, Kuusk had spent 20 years working at the Estonian Foreign Intelligence Service (Välisluureamet) and served as its deputy director general.
Estonian diplomats customarily take up their new posts in August or September, according to ERR.
