Early voting in mayoral election runoffs in Lithuania ends on Thursday.

Over 58,000 voters, or 4.08 percent, have already voted in the mayoral election runoffs in Lithuania during the first two days of early voting, according to the Central Electoral Committee.

Early voting is open from 7:00 until 20:00 on Thursday in 34 municipalities across Lithuania, including municipalities that elected their mayors in the first round earlier this month.

However, only voters who have declared their residence in specific municipalities where mayors have not yet been elected can vote.

Also on Thursday, people can vote at special polling stations in hospitals, social care and welfare institutions, military units and places of incarceration.

On Friday and Saturday, voting will take place at home. Persons with disabilities and their carers, persons unable to work due to illness, and voters aged 70 and over are entitled to vote at home.

On Sunday, March 19, voters are invited to vote at the municipal polling stations that will be open from 7:00 and close at 20:00.

Mayors were elected during the first round of voting in 26 municipalities after one candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes cast.
