LRT Radio and Freedom TV (Laisvės TV) have initiated a continuous protest called Freedom Shines (Laisvė Šviečia) outside the Russian Embassy in Vilnius on March 1-4.
On the first day of spring, protesters already gathered at Nemcov Square outside the Russian Embassy in the Lithuanian capital. They brought Ukrainian flags, posters with pro-Ukrainian and anti-war slogans, as well as blue and yellow flowers.
A freedom boat with a famous message was launched into the pond in front of the embassy. There are also tents collecting donations for Ukraine set up at the square.
People will stand guard outside the Russian Embassy from 12:00 to 20:00 or until there is light in the embassy windows throughout the four days of protest.
“Pressure on Putin can be exerted not only at the institutional level,” said Andrius Tapinas, the founder of Freedom TV.
