Travel update: Lithuania scraps self-isolation requirement for all arrivals

Travellers from any country, including outside the EEA, will not be required to self-isolate on arrival in Lithuania as of Monday.

Previously, self-isolation was a requirement for travellers from outside the European Economic Area who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19 or acquired immunity by recovering from the disease.

The Health Ministry has moved all countries to its yellow list as of Monday. This means that all arrivals will have to fill out a passenger questionnaire and present a document proving that they meet one of the three conditions: they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, have been infected in the past, or have a pre-departure negative Covid-19 test.

If a traveller does not meet the vaccination or infection criteria, they will need to take a PCR test within 72 hours before the arrival or an antigen test within 48 hours and show the negative test result to the carrier before boarding a plane, bus, ferry, or other mode of public transport.

Those travelling by private mean can bring a negative test result with them or they can get tested on arrival in Lithuania, in which case they must register for a test within 24 hours and pay for it.

The full list of rules can be found on the website of the Health Ministry, as well as the government’s dedicated coronavirus website. The list of self-isolation rules can be found here.
