Wearing facemasks indoors is once again mandatory in Lithuania as of October 1.
The new rules are in place even if the business or public place serves only people with the national Covid certificates.
Up until now, people with the Opportunity Pass (Galimybių Pasas) were only advised to wear masks indoors. The certificates are issued to those who are vaccinated, have recovered from the coronavirus in the past 180 days, or have a negative test.
Previous exceptions remain in place, meaning that masks are not mandatory for people who cannot wear them due to health reasons.
The government has also issued a recommendation for both public and private sectors to switch to remote work.
