Lithuania has registered 218 new coronavirus infections and one death from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Thursday morning.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate has risen to 147.7 cases per 100,000 people, and the daily share of positive tests remains at 3 percent.
Some 2,282 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 6,875 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours
Overall, 284,432 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic, and the number of active cases has risen to 3,568 over the last 24 hours.
A total of 4,424 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 9,050.
Over 15,300 people were vaccinated on Wednesday: 11,568 got their first vaccine shot and 3,733 were given the second jab.
In all, over 1.4 million people in Lithuania have been vaccinated at least once, or 51.6 percent of the population, and over 1.2 million have had two vaccine shots.
At present, 206 Covid-19 patients are being treated in Lithuania's hospitals. The government has said it will introduce tougher restrictions once the number of hospitalisations start approaching 300.
