Lithuania has confirmed 176 new coronavirus infections and no deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.
This is the highest number of daily new cases since June 11. Lithuania has not reported any coronavirus deaths for six days in a row.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate has risen to 39.3 cases per 100,000 people, and the daily share of positive tests has edged up to 1.4 percent, according to the latest statistics.
There were 5,831 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 2,795 antigen tests performed on Tuesday.
Overall, 280,093 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic, and the number of active cases has risen to 894 over the past 24 hours.
A total of 4,405 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 8,999.
Over 11,000 people were vaccinated in the country on Tuesday: 6,988 got their first vaccine shot and 4,367 got their second jab.
So far, 1.3 million people, or 47.1 percent of the population, have been vaccinated at least once and 1.1 million have been given two shots.
