Lithuania has registered 101 new coronavirus infections and no deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday morning.
This is the fifth day in a row when the country has reported no deaths from the coronavirus.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate has risen to 34.3 cases per 100,000 people, and the daily share of positive tests has edged up to 1.2 percent, according to the latest statistics.
Some 5,989 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 4,189 antigen tests have been performed in the last 24 hours.
Overall, 279,914 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic, and the number of active cases has risen to 894 over the past 24 hours.
A total of 4,404 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 8,998.
On Monday, 4,481 people were vaccinated with the first vaccine shot, while 6,241 got their second jab.
In all, over 1.3 million people in Lithuania, or 46.9 percent of the population, have been vaccinated at least once, while over 1.1 million have had two vaccine shots.
