Coronavirus: Lithuania records 86 new cases

Lithuania has registered 86 new coronavirus infections and no deaths from Covid-19, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday.

Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 20.3 cases per 100,000 people, and the share of positive tests has been 0.8 percent over the past seven days.

Some 5,850 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 3,964 antigen tests were performed in the country.

Overall, 279,302 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic, of whom 565 remain active cases.

A total of 4,401 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 8,973.

On Monday, 3,009 received the first vaccine shot and 8,440 got the second jab.

Over 1.28 million people in Lithuania have been vaccinated at least once, or 45.8 of the population, while over 1.08 million have already had two shots.
