Lithuania has registered 523 new coronavirus infections and seven deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 393.9 cases per 100,000 people, and the share of positive tests has been 3.5 percent over the past seven days.
Over Tuesday, 17,114 people were tested with molecular (PCR) tests and 7,569 took antigen tests.
Overall, 272,231 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.
Currently, 250,661 people are considered as having recovered from Covid-19 and 11,943 as active cases.
A total of 4,220 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 8,516.
Almost 24,000 vaccine shots were administered on Tuesday: 14,581 people were given their first shots and 9,361 were vaccinated for the second time.
So far, 954,550 people in the country have received at least one vaccine jab, or 34.1 percent of the population.
