Lithuania has registered 1,306 new coronavirus infections and six deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Friday morning.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 558.9 per 100,000 people, and the share of positive tests over the past seven days at 6.5 percent.
Overall, 247,269 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic. Some 11,869 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 6,855 antigen tests have been performed in the last 24 hours.
Some 222,436 people have recovered from Covid-19, while 16,180 are still active cases.
A total of 3,239 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 7,916.
Over 30,000 coronavirus vaccine shots administered in Lithuania in last 24 hours
Some 12,580 people in Lithuania have received their first Covid-19 vaccine shots over the past 24 hours, and 18,106, have been given the second jab.
This brings the total number of first doses administered in Lithuania to 674,105 and the total number of second doses to 269,580, according to the statistics office.
The country has given at least one coronavirus vaccine shot to 48.9 percent of people aged over 80 years, 63.1 percent of those in the 70–79 age group, and 45.1 percent in the 60–69 group.
About one-fourth of the Lithuanian population have received at least one vaccine dose so far.
The country has received a total of 1.151 million vaccine doses. Some 1.040 million doses have been delivered to vaccination sites and 943,685 have been used, based on the latest statistics.
Some 207,420 doses have not been used yet.
