Lithuania has registered 768 new coronavirus infections and nine deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Wednesday morning.
A total of 288,749 people have received their first coronavirus vaccine shots so far and 131,540 have been given the second jab, including 6,321 and 5,249, respectively, in the last 24 hours.
Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 272.3 cases per 100,000 people, and the share of positive tests over the past seven days – at 7.1 percent.
Overall, 211,011 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.
Some 195,551 people are considered as having statistically recovered from Covid-19 and are currently alive, and 7,768 as statistically ill, meaning they have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 28 days.
The statistical rate may more accurately reflect the real situation, according to the statistics office.
A total of 3,510 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 7,103.
Some 7,694 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 765 antigen tests have been performed in the last 24 hours.
