Lithuania has registered 468 new coronavirus infections and 19 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Friday morning.

This brings the country's coronavirus-related death toll to 3,038.

Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 288 per 100,000 people.

Overall, 189,665 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.

On Thursday, Statistics Lithuania began releasing data based on a new methodology that separates data on active coronavirus cases into declared and statistical ones. The statistical incidence rate may more accurately reflect the real situation, the service says.
