Lithuania registered 1,122 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday and 836 on Sunday.
This marks the first time since early November that the weekend count of new cases has dropped below 2,000.
However, the country's death toll keeps mounting, as Lithuania recorded 28 coronavirus-related deaths on Saturday and 26 on Sunday, bringing the country’s total death toll to 2,445.

The country's total number of coronavirus infections now stands at 167,516. As of Sunday morning, 59,683 people are still with the virus, while 104,188 have recovered.
As of Sunday morning, Lithuania has done 1,806,254 tests for Covid-19, including 5,428 over the past 24 hours. Some 46,923 people have already received the first shot of the coronavirus vaccine.
