President Nausėda out of temporary self-isolation

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and his family came out of isolation on Saturday after a staff member, who was thought to have had contact with a coronavirus-infected person, tested negative for Covid-19.

The entire staff of the president's office went into self-isolation on Friday. Offices at the presidential palace have been disinfected and staff members advised to work remotely, if possible, according to a statement.

Moreover, all visitors to the presidential palace are required to wear facemasks as of Monday.

It was reported that the president's staff member may have had contact with Jonas Sakalauskas, the director of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 last week.
