Coronavirus: Lithuania reports 10 new cases, 2 traced to Czech Republic

Ten new coronavirus infections were diagnosed in Lithuania over Tuesday, the National Public Health Centre has reported.

In all, Lithuania has confirmed 1,854 Covid-19 cases, but 1,552 people have already recovered, while 212 remain active cases.

So far, 79 people have died from the coronavirus.

Over 3,500 people were tested for Covid-19 over Tuesday.

Two of the new cases were reported in Klaipėda County and were diagnosed for people who returned from the Czech Republic, according to the National Public Health Centre.

They returned to Lithuania by car via Poland on July 3 and became symptomatic on July 5. Before testing positive for Covid-19, one of the people had contact with 8 relatives and a priest, while the other one attended church services.

The other new Covid-19 cases were traced to existing clusters of infections and were all reported in Vilnius County.

Three of them were diagnosed at Vilnius Psychiatric Hospital, where in all eight cases of Covid-19 were confirmed since May, including four patients.
