Lithuania limits over-the-counter medicine sales during quarantine

BNS 2020.03.18 15:48

Shoppers will only be able to purchase one pack of any over-the-counter medicine or disinfectant product during the quarantine period, the Lithuanian Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

This applies to medicines that contain the same active substance and are of the same strength and pharmaceutical form.

Restrictions were also imposed on sales of disinfectant products. Some pharmacies in Vilnius have already limited the amount of disinfectant spray and cleaner to one bottle per customer.

"From now on, pharmacies must limit the amount of disinfectant products sold per individual so that disinfectant products are available to [more people]," the ministry said in a statement.

The government imposed a nationwide quarantine on Monday.
