Former Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė will join the Board of Trustees at the Friends of Europe think tank.
The former president agreed to join the board on Thursday during her attendance at the organisation's annual State of Europe forum, the former president's representatives informed BNS.
Grybauskaitė met with the think tank's management and discussed cooperation possibilities involving various projects.
"Grybauskaitė was invited to take an active part in the organisation's activity and become a member of the Board of Trustees," the statement reads.
Friends of Europe is a think-tank that has been analyzing EU policies for the past two decades and is involving in analysing Europe's future.
Its Board of Trustees involves incumbent and former heads of state, EU leaders and European commissioners, former EC Vice President Joaquin Almunia, the EU's Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier, ex-Swedish Prime Minister Carlas Bildtas, ex-Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, ex-NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, and others.
Grybauskaitė served two terms as Lithuania's president in 2009-2019.
