Latvian airline airBaltic announced it will suspend all scheduled flights to and from Dubai until the end of October due to the current security situation in the Middle East.
The carrier said the measure will remain in place until the end of the summer flight season in late October.
To reduce the impact on passengers’ travel plans, the airline is offering customers the option to rebook free of charge to any of more than 80 destinations in its network. Alternative routes include popular holiday destinations such as Antalya, Corfu, Crete, Lisbon, Malta, Naples, Nice, Rhodes and Split, among others.
“Although Dubai has been a very popular destination in our network, the current security situation requires cautious and responsible decisions,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, vice president for network management at airBaltic.

“Our priority is to provide passengers with reliable travel options so they can continue traveling this summer by choosing other attractive destinations in the airBaltic network,” he said, adding that the airline hopes to resume flights to Dubai once the situation allows.
The airline said the aircraft originally scheduled to serve Dubai will be reassigned to other popular destinations in Spain and Cyprus, expanding travel options from the Baltic states.
Additional flights will be added to several routes, including:
- Alicante from April 23 to August 27
- Larnaca from May 2 to October 17
- Barcelona from April 18 to August 29
- Madrid from May 4 to August 31
- Tenerife from September 2 to October 23
Passengers who have already booked flights to or from Dubai through October 2026 and wish to change their reservations to another airBaltic destination are advised to contact the airline’s customer service centre.
