The shareholders of logistics giant Girteka Group have ties to a Cyprus-registered company that owns at least 16 firms operating in Russia, reports Delfi.
According to the report, Girteka Group restructured its corporate operations several years ago and publicly announced a separation from its Russian business. However, Delfi noted that Girteka shareholders Mindaugas Raila and Edvardas Liachovičius remain beneficiaries of Eurona Holdings Limited, a company registered in Cyprus.
Public records show that Eurona Holdings Limited controls at least 16 companies in Russia engaged in the transport and logistics sector, including vehicle sales, rentals, maintenance, and repair services.
Despite this, Liachovičius told Delfi that neither he nor Raila are actively involved in the management of the Cyprus-based firm.
“Yes, we are beneficiaries of this company, but we do not participate actively in its management,” he said.
According to the Cyprus company registry, Eurona Holdings Limited is headed by Cypriot national Georgios Georgiou.
