The main reason behind the crash of a DHL Swiftair plane in Vilnius last November may have been human error, reports 15min.lt citing its sources.
According to 15min.lt, several versions of the crash of the Boeing plane on November 25 were initially put forward, including technical failure, external influences and interference with its landing. However, the investigators appear to lean towards the conclusion that the sole factor was pilot error.
However, the prosecutors conducting the investigation have not yet come to a definitive conclusion, it adds.
The cargo plane used by the German company DHL crashed while approaching Vilnius Airport in the early morning of November 25, 2024, killing one person onboard and injuring three others. It also damaged a residential house.

The pilot, a 48-year-old Spanish national, died in the crash. Three other people on board, a Lithuanian, a German, and another Spaniard, were injured.
The latter was in a serious condition and was hospitalised, while the other two suffered minor injuries.
It was then reported that the aircraft was completely destroyed. The plane crashed near a house and set fire to nearby sheds and a car. Thirteen residents of the damaged house were evacuated.
