Some 174,000 people, or almost 7.4 percent of the electorate, cast their ballots during the three days of early voting for Sunday’s parliamentary election in Lithuania, preliminary figures from the Central Electoral Commission (VRK) show.

This is up from 74,500, or 3.09 percent, in the previous general election in 2020.

Early voting took place on October 8–10 in designated early voting locations in all 60 municipalities in Lithuania.

People with disabilities and their caregivers, those unable to come to polling stations due to illness, and voters aged 70 and older can also vote at home on Friday and Saturday.

According to the VRK, on October 13, voting will be possible only in the polling stations of voters’ constituency. This is because half of the Seimas members are elected in single-mandate constituencies
