The events of the centenary Song Celebration continue in Vilnius, with the Tree of Life evening of ensembles taking place on Wednesday at the Kalnų Park Estrada.
According to the organisers, this year’s programme intertwines the four elements – fire, air, water, and earth – which grow the nation’s tree of life. The themes of the elements will be reflected in the musical works and choreographic solutions.
The event will intertwine choral singing with folklore, and will feature familiar pieces and 20 new compositions specially created for this programme.
Over 4,000 singers, musicians, and dancers will perform the theatrical Evening of Ensembles programme.
According to the Lithuanian National Centre for Culture, the Evening of Ensembles is one of the most prominent events of the programme of the centennial Lithuanian Song Celebration.
It is distinguished by its authentic three-layered composition: a choir, a folk instrument orchestra, and a folk dance group.
