Lithuanian Government Chancellor Giedrė Balčytytė has expressed Lithuania’s support for Moldova’s accelerated European integration and offered assistance in the development of a national crisis management system.
Speaking at the 4th Moldova Support Platform Summit in Chisinau on Tuesday, the chancellor noted that Moldova’s European integration remains among the Lithuanian foreign policy’s top priorities.
As Russia continues its war against Ukraine, Moldova faces multiple national security challenges, having to deal with external threats and hybrid pressures, Balčytytė said.
“Looking ahead, Moldova needs to continue strengthening the resilience of its society, including in the face of hybrid threat scenarios. This requires a well-functioning national crisis management system and administrative resources,” she stressed/
Lithuania is ready to share its experience with Moldova as part of an analysis of the applicability of institutional solutions, legal regulation, and the joint development of a reform strategy, by helping to set up a permanent threat monitoring system and by introducing appropriate technologies.
