Coronavirus: Lithuania reports 663 new cases, 13 deaths

Lithuania has registered 663 new coronavirus infections and 13 deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Friday morning.

Lithuania's 14-day coronavirus infection rate currently stands at 243.2 per 100,000 people.

Overall, 192,986 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic.

Currently, 178,126 people are considered as having statistically recovered from Covid-19, and 8,365 as statistically ill, meaning that they have tested positive for the virus in the past 28 days.

A total of 3,145 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 6,105.

As of Friday morning, 113,208 people have received their first coronavirus vaccine shots and 63,281 have been given the second jab, including 5,754 and 4,226 in the last 24 hours, respectively.

A total of 2,290,610 molecular (PGR) tests for Covid-19 have been carried out in the country so far, including 7,701 in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, 458 antigen tests have been performed in the last 24 hours, too, bringing the total number to 28,821.

The share of positive tests over the past seven days now stands at 7.2 percent.
