The 30th coronavirus death was reported in Lithuania on Wednesday evening, according to the country's Health Ministry.
The person was treated at Klaipėda University Hospital and was in a risk group, according to the ministry, meaning he or she was of an advanced aged or had chronic health conditions.
Five people infected with the coronavirus passed away in Lithuania on Tuesday. Twenty-one new infections were confirmed over the same day, according to the Ministry of Health.
In all, 1,091 Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in Lithuania to date, while 138 patients have recovered and 30 have passed away.
According to the Health Ministry, 1,987 people were tested for the coronavirus on Tuesday. The backlog of untested samples stands at 547, while a total of 44,677 samples have been tested in the country so far.
Two of the patients who passed away were treated in Vilnius, one in Kaunas and two in Klaipėda. All but one were elderly people considered to be a risk group.
