Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish President Karol Nawrocki will visit Lithuania on Sunday, officials said.
Poland’s embassy confirmed Nawrocki’s visit to BNS, while sources told BNS that Zelensky will also be in the country.
The two leaders will attend a commemoration of the 1863–1864 uprising together with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda. Known in Poland as the January Uprising, the revolt sought to free the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Kingdom of Poland from the Russian Empire.
The visit will be Nawrocki’s second trip to Lithuania.
For Zelensky, it will mark his fifth visit to Lithuania since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and his seventh visit overall.
Lithuania and Poland are among Kyiv’s strongest supporters as Ukraine continues to resist Russia’s invasion, now approaching its fourth year.
Lithuania has been a vocal advocate of Ukraine’s membership in the European Union and, relative to the size of its economy, ranks among the countries providing the most military assistance to Ukraine.
