Lithuania will contribute one million euros to a European Commission-funded programme intended to help Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction. The Lithuanian government on Wednesday approved a resolution drafted by the Foreign Ministry.
The ministry proposes to allocate 1 million euros from the national budget for the implementation of the EC-funded EU4Reconstruction programme.
Under the programme, Lithuania will contribute, together with Denmark, to the transformation of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine into an institution that meets European standards. This should work effectively on Ukraine’s reconstruction and manage future EU funding.
The programme, worth 37.5 million euros in total, will run from 2025 to 2027.
EU4Reconstruction, an EU programme for capacity building and standard setting in support of Ukraine’s reconstruction, will be implemented by Denmark, Germany, France and Lithuania.
The programme has five components: support for strengthening Ukraine’s Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories, empowering local authorities, reforming the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, improving construction standards and stepping up the involvement of civil society.
