Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda intends to travel to Ukraine to attend the commemoration of the third anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion, his senior adviser Asta Skaisgirytė said on Tuesday.
“A visit to Ukraine is planned because it is the third anniversary of the war and we would like to show Lithuania’s support for Ukraine, which remains strong after three years,” she told the Žiniu Radijas radio.
Nausėda last visited Ukraine in September last year. Lithuania is one of the largest supporters of Ukraine in terms of a share of its gross domestic product.
The third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine will be marked next Monday, February 24.
