The 13th Free Russia Forum, the largest platform for the Russian opposition, is getting underway in Vilnius on Friday.
The event brings together prominent Russian and international experts, politicians, public figures, writers, economists, journalists, members of the European Parliament, and representatives from Ukraine, according to the organisers.
“We invite everyone who considers Putin’s regime to be illegitimate, the war he waged against Ukraine to be criminal, and who also unconditionally supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” they said in a statement.
The forum will discuss “a unified, clear formula for Ukraine’s victory”, the divided Russian political émigré community, and anti-Putin resistance.
Participants will also explore the potential outcomes of “the global confrontation” between democratic alliances and dictatorships, how Russian opposition figures can support Ukraine and Russian volunteers fighting in its forces, and what “lies ahead for the liberated Russian border regions”.
Other forum topics include new challenges to international security, the intensification of the Russian Federal Security Service’s (FSB) activities in Europe, the economy of a prolonged war, and Russia’s future.
Participants of the two-day event include Russian politicians and human rights activists Garry Kasparov, Gennady Gudkov, Mark Feygin, Lithuania’s first post-independence leader Vytautas Landsbergis, former Deputy Foreign Minister Mantas Adomėnas, and experts from Ukraine.
The Free Russia Forum has been held in Lithuania, most often in Vilnius, twice a year since 2016.
