The Paris Paralympic Games came to a close on Sunday, with Lithuanian athletes bringing home one medal.
Nine athletes represented Lithuania at this year’s Summer Paralympic Games, and Judo wrestler Osvaldas Bareikis won the only bronze medal for the country.
This is the second medal that Bareikis won at the Paralympic Games. In Tokyo in 2021, he also won bronze.

Lithuania was represented by 11 Paralympians at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, which took place in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In total, Lithuanian Paralympic athletes won three bronze medals in Tokyo.
A total of 4,400 Paralympians representing 168 countries took part in the Paris Paralympic Games.
Lithuania was represented by field athletes Andrius Skuja, Aušra Garunkšnytė, Donatas Dundzys, Oksana Dobrovolskaja, and Eivydė Vainauskaitė, swimmers Edgaras Matakas and Gabrielė Čepavičiūtė, shooter Raimeda Bučinskytė, as well as Bareikis.
