After Russia fired dozens of missiles at cities across Ukraine on Monday, Lithuanian leaders have condemned the attack, which killed at least 28 people.
A children’s hospital in Kyiv was among the targets hit in the massive Russian missile barrage.
“As NATO leaders are gathering in Washington for discussions, Russia is directing missiles at children’s hospitals and creating a russkiy mir (Russian world) where it is normal for mothers to look for their children under the rubble,” Seimas Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen posted on Facebook.
“There is no excuse not to provide all necessary assistance to Ukraine,” she added.

Russia’s rare daytime attack came as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was due to visit Warsaw before heading to the NATO summit in Washington, D.C.
“Putin sends his greetings to the NATO Summit by bombing a children’s hospital as if any clarification was needed as to why Ukraine must have all possible support now, and real guarantees for security in the future,” Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis posted on X.
