Lithuanian Railways passenger division appoints new CEO

Kristina Meidė, director of the Lithuanian Red Cross, has been appointed to head LTG Link, the passenger transportation arm of Lietuvos Geležinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways, LTG), the state-owned group said on Wednesday. 

Meidė’s five-year term of office is starting on February 1, she is replacing her predecessor Linas Baužys.

Gediminas Šečkus, FREE Rail program manager at LTG, has been serving as interim CEO at LTG Link since September 21.

Meidė has previously been the CEO at Maxima LT and has headed the Eurovaistinė pharmacy chain and Euroapotheca, the owner of pharmacy chains in the three Baltic countries and Sweden.

Her past career also includes the position of regional manager at Swedbank.
