A presidential election in Lithuania will be held on May 12, the country’s parliament decided on Thursday.
According to the Constitution, the Seimas sets the date for a presidential election.
Last spring, the Seimas also announced that a referendum on the legalisation of multiple citizenship would also be held on May 12.
If the first round of voting fails to elect a new president, the run-off will be held on May 26.
