NATO’s largest air drills will see jets stage simultaneous landings in Lithuania

Fourteen aircraft will take off and land simultaneously at Šiauliai Air Base in Lithuania as part of NATO's largest air force drills.

Taking place on June 12–23, Air Defender 23 will simulate a NATO response to aggression and will involve up to 10,000 troops with 220 aircraft from 25 countries. The aim is to test interoperability and cooperation between different forces and countries under realistic training conditions.

During the exercise, Lithuanian Air Force personnel will perform planning functions, as well as coordinate flights to Lithuania within the exercise management group.
