The Bolt platform is launching a short-term car rental service with 500 cars in Vilnius on Monday.
“Introducing Bolt Drive, the most affordable car-sharing service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” reads a letter sent to Bolt customers.
The app shows that the service is currently only available in Vilnius. The company's representatives say that Bolt Drive is planning to expand to other Lithuanian cities in the near future.
“By the end of the year, we plan to have 1,500 car-sharing cars in Bolt Drive. This will account for 0.18 percent of the total number of cars in Lithuania,“ Katolis Yla, head of car-sharing operations at Bolt, told a press conference on Monday.
Two car rental platforms, CityBee and Spark, are currently operating in the Lithuanian capital.
In Lithuania, Bolt also offers ride-hailing, e-scooter rental, and food delivery services.
