Following the successful campaign in Lithuania, Latvia has begun a fundraiser to buy a Turkish Bayraktar drone to hand it over to Ukraine.
The country’s charity Ziedot.lv, together with the Latvian Defence Ministry, plan to raise 5 million euros.
"Of course one drone probably won't decide the outcome of the war. But it is important for the Ukrainian side that they feel and see that support is still there," Rūta Dimanta, head of Ziedot.lv charity, told the Latvian public broadcaster LSM.
Besides Lithuania, similar initiatives have already taken place in Canada, Poland, and Norway. the LSM reported.
